State Family Assistance (SFA)
State Family Assistance (SFA) is a cash assistance program for participants who are ineligible for Temporary Aid for Needy Families (TANF.)
SFA recipients are required to participate in WorkFirst. Therefore, SFA recipients are not eligible for Basic Food Employment and Training (BFET) with one exception. A child who meets the following requirements is eligible for BFET:
•Aged 19 or 20, and
•Not the Head of Household of the SFA assistance unit.
