Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs

The Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs helps connect veterans and their family members to the benefits and services they earned through their military service. Our Central Office is located in Olympia and includes a Veterans Service Center as well as administrative support for all agency programs.

The Veterans Services Division and the Counseling and Wellness Division provide claims assistance as well as counseling services for veterans and their family members.

Programs

Homeless Veteran Reintegration Program

The Homeless Veteran Reintegration Program (HVRP) offers a structured, individually designed case management plan to assist veterans become employable and secure by providing employment support services such as food, clothing, transportation, and employment support services. Through outreach, assessments, and enrollment into program services, veterans are provided services and activities that will develop and/or increase job readiness. See website for application. Transitional Housing Program

Transitional Housing Program for Veterans is located at the Washington Veterans Home in Port Orchard, WA and the Washington Soldiers Home in Orting, WA. The 100-bed transitional housing program is available to assist men and women veterans in need of stable housing, vocational rehabilitation, and increased income potential. Veterans are surrounded with supportive staff and wraparound services designed to lead to their successful completion of the program and a successful return to the community.
