Spokane HOPE Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children

Spokane Hearing Oral Program of Excellence (HOPE) provides early intervention auditory and language therapy to children with hearing loss during the early years of rapid brain development. To this day, it is the ONLY listening and spoken language (LSL) provider in the Eastern Washington community. Our program is unique in that we have certified teachers of the deaf who hold graduate degrees in teaching deaf and hard of hearing children, with an emphasis on LSL strategies.

Early Supports Services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children

The moment your child is officially diagnosed deaf or hard-of-hearing, we’re ready to help. Our certified Teachers of the Deaf will be on your living room floor, guiding you from that first “refer” result all the way to a chatty three-year-old who will be in class alongside their hearing peers. We can schedule your free home visit within days, handle ESIT enrollment, and coordinate with your audiologist. Early intervention is the greatest gift for your baby’s listening brain and Early Supports services may include, but are not limited to Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech/Language Therapy, Special Instruction, Feeding Team Services, and Service Coordination. Spokane HOPE offers in-home services to clients in Whitman County.
