Diaper Bank

Council on Aging & Human Services, in partnership with PREPARES, provides free diapers at their Colfax Food Pantry.

Home Delivered Meals

Offers hot meals every day of the year for Pullman and Colfax. Meals are delivered around noon each day.

Congregate Meal Site

Provides congregate meals for senior citizens to gather once or twice a week and enjoy a hot meal and socialize together. Meal costs: Seniors over 60: suggested donation of $4.25, other community members: suggested donation of $6.50 and grandchildren/little ones with grandparent or caregiver: $2.00 suggested donation.

Information & Referral

This service provides information and connects individuals to resources within the community to stabilize independence. We help people make informed decisions regarding available resources to help maintain independent living within the community. Through phone calls or in-person meetings with individuals and families, we empower people to plan for their immediate and long term needs.

Kinship Navigator/ Kinship Caregiver Support Program

Kinship Navigator provides grandparents and relatives who are raising children connections with community resources such as health, financial, legal services, support groups, training, and emergency funds.

Senior Farmer's Market Nutrition Program

The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) provides fresh fruit and vegetables to lower-income seniors and supports local farming by increasing the use of farmers markets, roadside stands, and community supported agriculture. Produce is also purchased directly from farmers for delivery to seniors. Checks arrive annually in June, call the office for more details.

COAST Transportation

Provides safe, affordable, accessible, and coordinated transportation and brokerage services for all citizens who need access to basic necessities or activities enhancing the quality of their lives. COAST serves Whitman and Latah counties. In Washington, this includes the elderly, low-income, disabled, and children, but it is also open to the general public with no age or income qualifications. In Idaho, their rides are provided to seniors and disabled citizens based on proof of eligibility.

DAWN seeks to preserve dignity and autonomy through aging in place by providing training for families and caregivers. Consultations and classes available.
