Council on Aging & Human Services Programs Moving to New Agencies

Aging & Long Term Care of Eastern Washington (ALTCEW), the designated Area Agency on Aging for Whitman County, has successfully transitioned multiple programs to new community partners and is actively working to finalize the transition of Senior Nutrition Services.

MedStar will assume responsibility for senior transportation, including medical and essential trips.

Rural Resources Community Action (RRCA) will operate the Kinship Navigator Program, Kinship Caregiver Support Program, and the Community Living Connections helpline, providing a centralized access point for aging and disability resources in Whitman County.

Nutrition service providers will be announced once contracts are finalized and services are available to the public. In the interim, ALTCEW can help individuals locate meal and nutrition resources.

ALTCEW will continue to share updates as the transition progresses. Community members with questions or in need of immediate support, especially related to nutrition services, are encouraged to contact the ALTCEW helpline at (509) 960-7281.

To find out more information, visit the ALTCEW website.
